Job Overview


We are looking for a hardworking Construction Estimator to join our team As a Construction Estimator, your main responsibility will be to estimate the work of particular projects by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents and being in direct contact with clients, companies, and stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Explore documentation to gain a deep understanding of the project requirements
  • Organize and keep project documents up to date in the system
  • Select, measure, and track important metrics
  • Gather Accurate information
  • Uploads and downloads project files verifying completeness
  • Assist with any other miscellaneous projects and responsibilities
  • Meet and communicate with architects, builders, and developers to coordinate and support projects to their successful completion.
  • Drafting material takeoffs and placing orders with suppliers if necessary.
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Estimate residential, commercial, and Institutional projects.

Qualifications

  • BA in engineering, construction science or similar relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge of structural construction methods, the Ontario Building Code, systems, and materials.
  • Highquality comprehension of architectural and structural construction drawings.
  • Possess a strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Words and Excel), Bluebeam, AutoCAD
  • Previous working experience as a construction estimator for 1+ years in
    Canada.
  • Proficient in English, speaking and writing.
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proactive and have a positive mindset.
  • Can adapt well to shifting priorities and schedules.
  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fastpaced environment with competing priorities.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license.

Hourly rate:
$18 to $20 + commission pay


Job Types:

Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour


Flexible Language Requirement:

  • French not required

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Commission pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • York, ON M6M 4L7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- construction estimating: 1 year (preferred)
