Job Description And Qualifications:
The position of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Manager is within the GEMTE Field Execution Organization. Key responsibilities of this position are to provide leadership of AWP activities.

The primary responsibility of the AWP Manager is to be a change agent and ensure that all collaborators are following the company detailed AWP processes and procedures.

This is an individual contributor position.

On a day-to-day basis, AWP Manager will collaborate with engineering and procurement team members, prioritize group training, and provide one-on-one mentor.

Other responsibilities include collaborating with engineering to ensure reduce safety exposure at the design phase, ensure constructability, and minimize construction costs while meeting cost and schedule objectives.

The AWP Manager is the go-to person for Advanced Work Packaging questions and ensures that team feedback is incorporated into the implementation strategy as the project moves forward.

The AWP Manager functions as a resource for information, a source of practical assistance, and a skilled motivator responsible for encouraging a spirit of collaboration and getting the entire team on board with AWP.

The AWP Manager will be located at our Houston office. The position will require 10-50% travel during the design phase of projects.

They are encouraged to have a presence with the engineering group at the start of the project and transition to the construction site full time when required.

Engineering may be performed in the US, China, and/or India.

Specific Job Functions Of This Position Are:

  • Implement strategy for (AWP) on assigned project
  • Ensure that the project's AWP processes and procedures are complete and up to date.
  • Audit protocols are established and followed.
  • Be actively involved in the interactive planning sessions through all phases of the project, and be ready to intervene in any problems related to any unsupportive partners or any in need of clarification of the AWP processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with Management to define Construction Work Areas (CWA's) and Construction Work Packages (CWP's)
  • Work with Project Team to develop Engineering Work Packages (EWP's) and Procurement Work Packages (PWP's) to support POC.
  • Prioritize sequences for CWP's, EWP's and PWP's to support schedule POC
  • Work with Project Team supporting the tracking and execution of EWP's and PWP's
  • Support and supervise execution of EWP's/PWP's/CWP's
  • Provide CWP's to material management allowing time for material allocation
  • Ensure CWP's are issued with enough time allocated for final installation planning
  • Capture, analyze, input and compile information; submit required information to site leadership.

The position requires at a minimum:

  • Previous experience implementing and leading AWP capital construction projects in the $1B range
  • Proven leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Leadership of both construction engineering and site construction teams
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and construction site
  • Experienced in the full cycle of construction activities from development through production.
  • Deep, technical understanding of AWP systems and processes, and must be intimately familiar with AWP roles and responsibilities.
  • Proven Record of success in safety, environmental, quality, employee involvement, team building, and diversity.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally; 24/7 availability
  • Construction, engineering, or management university degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years construction and engineering experience
