Halifax Regional Municipality is looking for a Recreation Business Analyst to join the Strategic Planning & Design team in Parks & Recreation.

If the temporary position transitions to permanent status during business planning, the successful candidate may be offered the role without further competition, given they meet performance criteria.

The Recreation Business Analyst (RBA) will report to the Business Lead, evaluating, planning, and implementing process improvements in the recreation services software system.

Responsibilities include collaborating with senior management, facility managers, and service providers to identify areas for enhancement, develop financial justifications, and manage system configuration.

The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator and team builder, focused on optimizing business processes for efficient service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Business Analysis Certification is a plus
- Additional certifications such as MBA, Lean Six Sigma, or Change Management are beneficial

Minimum three years' experience in:
- Project management and delivery
- Strategic leadership and relationship management
- Developing solutions for complex challenges
- Collaborating with stakeholders and senior management
- Leading and mentoring staff
- Conducting cost benefit analysis and process improvement
- Technical knowledge in requirements translation and testing

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Parks & Recreation business needs assessment
- Experience in requirements gathering and documentation
- Knowledge of project management and change management principles
- Familiarity with recreation software systems and process improvement models
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools

Security Clearance Requirements:
- Candidates may undergo a security screening check.

WORK STATUS:
Temporary Full Time Position up to 18 months

HOURS OF WORK:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours per week

SALARY:
NU06 on the non-union scale; $71,650-$92,730

WORK LOCATION:
6th Floor Alderney Gate, Dartmouth
