The Opportunity

Columbia College is looking for a
Science Tutor for the
Winter 2024 semester.

The tutor assists students in learning core course concepts, with an emphasis placed on supporting the development of autonomous learning and studying skills.

The tutor is expected to hold individual, walk-in, and group tutoring sessions for Columbia College students.

The position is for
12 hours per week. Some scheduling flexibility is possible, and more hours may be available closer to the end of the semester.

This part-time position will start on the week of
January 15, 2024, and end on
April 1, 2024.

Key Responsibilities

Tutor students in a oneonone or small group setting.
Participate in endofsemester department reviews.
Other duties as assigned by the Learning Centre Supervisor.
Master's or advanced degree in biology, chemistry, or biochemistry is an asset
Experience tutoring Biology and Chemistry at another postsecondary institution.
Experience in teaching a diverse student body.
Previous Physics tutoring at the postsecondary level is an asset.

Compensation

Gross Salary:
$31.50 per hour
