We have an immediate opening for a
Die Handler at our Brampton Extrusion Plant.


Position Overview


The Die Handler will be responsible for the efficient handling, maintenance, and preparation of dies used in the aluminum extrusion process.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and the consistent delivery of top-quality products to our customers.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Handle dies with care, ensuring proper lifting techniques and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Transport dies between storage areas, die cleaning stations, and production lines using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or overhead cranes.
  • Select and prepare dies according to production schedules, ensuring the correct dies are available for each extrusion job.
  • Inspect dies for damage, wear, or defects, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel for repair or maintenance.
  • Clean dirty dies using designated methods and equipment, which may include immersion in caustic tanks or other cleaning solutions.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of dies as needed, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate records of die inventory, usage, and maintenance activities to ensure proper tracking and accountability.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize die handling tasks and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance skills and contribute to operational efficiency.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aluminum extrusion or metal fabrication.
  • Familiarity with die handling techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Physically fit to lift and move up to 70 lbs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding role and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Schedule:


  • 12 hour shifts; 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (continental, straight nights)
  • Continental (2 days on, 2 days off, & every other weekend)
