As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village, you will:
Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of maintenance services to our residents.
Our Maintenance Team Members perform a variety of maintenance activities across their Village to ensure a safe and comfortable home environment for residents, their families and your colleagues.
Maintenance Team Members complete maintenance requests (repairs) and routine scheduled work including plumbing, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical repairs and heating/cooling system maintenance.
To be successful as our new Maintenance Team Member, you will:
- Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work
- Handle residents' personal items, Village supplies and equipment with care and respect
- Respects the rights and dignity of all residents, families, team members and visitors to the Village and addresses any requests with professionalism and care
It would be an asset if our new Maintenance Team Member has:
- An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures
- An understanding of general maintenance and trades, such as, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and electrical
- The awareness and ability to operate equipment and machinery, such as, hot water heating systems, air exchange units, fire alarms, sprinkler systems and/or call systems
- Skill in operating common hand and power tools
