Department Overview
- The Wealth Planning Support (WPS) group is a business unit within Private Wealth Management dedicated to providing advisory, planning, and training support to TD Wealth advisors in Financial Planning and Private Wealth Management.
- The Wealth Planning Support specialist provides delivery of The Wealth Planning Support specialist provides delivery of TD Wealth Planning Support and Plan Oversight.
- Conduct Plan reviews to ensure adherence to financial planning standards and provide feedback for advisor development
- Develop training and support material to help elevate financial planning acumen with advisors
- Engage with advisors to coach them on plan quality with a focus on delivery quality plans that cover all areas of financial planning
- Carry out independent research on relevant advanced financial, tax and estate planning topics, as it relates to plans under construction
- Keep abreast of wealth planning developments and help increase the overall wealth planning knowledge level of the Wealth Planning Support group
- Delivery and enhancement of Plan Oversight with a focus on regulatory compliance, the client experience and productivity
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- A minimum 5 years of wealth planning experience gained through client contact or in a technical advisory support role to advisors, coupled with investment industry knowledge
- Fluent in French is an asset
- Understanding/knowledge of Canadian and provincial specific taxation for individuals and corporations
- Financial planning designation (CFP, F.Pl.)
- CPA, CA, LL.B, TEP an asset
- Professional writing experience
- Training and facilitation experience is an asset
- Selfstarted who is resultsoriented and who works effectively and collaboratively in a teamenvironment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint
- Some experience engaging with clients or advisors using screen share technology would be an asset
- Knowledge of and experience working with advanced financial planning issues
- Must possess a passion for financial, tax and estate planning and have a good understanding of how advisors work with clients.
