DESCRIPTION
Michels Canada is looing for a QC Turnover Assistant to join our world-class project team on the TransMountain Expansion Project As a QC Turnover Assistant on the project, your primary responsibility is to support the Quality Control (QC) team in ensuring that construction projects meet the required contractual requirements for final turnover for operational use.
You will work closely with the QC Lead, QC Manager, and project stakeholders to facilitate the turnover process, review documentation, and assist in quality assurance activities.
Your attention to detail, knowledge of industry regulations, and strong organizational skills will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of projects.
This position is based in Langley, BC, and will be instrumental in the safe execution of one of Canada's largest energy infrastructure projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Work together with the Project Quality Lead to ensure coordination of turnover documentation and management is in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, such as construction/project managers, engineers, and operations personnel, to facilitate the turnover process.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure completion of outstanding punch list items and documentation requirements.
- Verify that all necessary inspection reports, test records, and certifications are obtained and complied for turnover.
- Assist with the uploading of turnover documents to approved document transmittal process.
- Support the QC Lead and Manager in conducting turnover management.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of inspections, test results, and other relevant documentation.
- Organize and maintain a centralized database or filing system for easy retrieval of project records.
- Assist in the preparation of turnover packages, including compiling final documentation for handover to the operations team.
- Identify areas for improvement in quality control processes and recommend solutions.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to quality control and turnover activities.
- Participate in training programs or workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in quality assurance and project turnover.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree is an asset.
- Experience with turnover management and coordination with major oil ad gas high profile projects is an asset.
- Previous knowledge and use of PIMs.
