Description

Reporting to the General Manager of the Windfall site, the Finance Manager will direct and supervise the Company's accounting activities, financial monitoring, and the reliability of accounting and financial information.

He/she will be responsible for the overall financial management of the project, provide the control function for the partnership, and manage the finance team and reporting.

The Finance Director will play a crucial role in overseeing the partnership's financial operations and strategies.

He/she will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis and reporting to ensure the financial health and success of the partnership.

His expertise in financial management will contribute to informed business decisions and the achievement of objectives. 5-2 schedule, teleworking and Montreal offices, with occasional trips to the Windfall site.


Tasks and responsabilities

  • Act as a Company's representative;
  • Plan, organize, direct and supervise all financial and accounting activities of the Company;
  • Manage financial planning and budgeting activities;
  • Supervise the production of financial statements and other financial management reports;
  • Actively participate in all studies required for the design and realization of projects (opportunity study, economic evaluation, prefeasibility study, feasibility study, etc.);
  • Establish unit objectives, schedules and budgets;
  • Plan his/her department's manpower requirements and participate in employee recruitment;
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of activities under his/her responsibility to determine whether personnel have the equipment, skills and training required to perform their tasks optimally, and take corrective action where necessary;
  • Supervise and coach staff under his/her direction to achieve objectives, while ensuring that deadlines and budgets are respected;
  • Conduct performance appraisals of staff under his/her responsibility;
  • Manage and collaborate on audit processes with external auditors and the Company's stakeholders;
  • Ensure effective internal controls to safeguard the Company's assets;
  • Develop, implement and monitor financial performance indicators;
  • Ensure the reliability of the Company's accounting and financial information;
  • Ensure the Company's compliance with regulatory obligations (tax laws and accounting standards);
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports for the Board of Directors and senior management;
  • Analyze the Company's financial results and provide relevant information in a timely manner to ensure optimal decisionmaking;
  • Recommend to senior management any operational changes required to ensure that procedures are respected and objectives achieved;
  • Act as a leader in safety, environment and community relations to help achieve the highest standards;
  • Perform any other duties related to the position of Finance Manager that are relevant to the success of the project.

Qualifications requires

  • University degree in accounting, finance or related field;
  • Hold a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA);
  • At least 10 years' experience in a similar position, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity;
  • Experience in the mining industry (an asset);
  • Bilinguisme (French and English).

Technical skills

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and related regulations;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and financial accounting software;
  • Knowledge of the mining industry (an asset).
