Job description


We are looking for a detail oriented, organized and positive bookkeeper join our team to handle full circle of bookkeeping.

This will include weekly reporting and accounting needs, commission statement generation, and supporting alternate team members with payment collection and posting.


Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including daily sales reports, supplier invoices and sales receipts
  • Completion of payment runs. Prepare checks, payments and bank deposits. Primary contact for vendor enquiries
  • Reconciliation of bank, credit cards and A/P vendor accounts
  • Prepare and process Weekly payroll, including: employee payroll account setup, processing payroll, issuing paycheques, calculating source deductions, vacation pay, issuing ROEs and T4s, investigating and resolving payroll issues
  • Track and maintain inventory records.
  • Calculation and filing of government remittances such as Beer tax, GST/HST, payroll reductions, EHT, and WSIB, Corp tax
  • Completion of Monthend procedure
  • Production of period end financial statements, including bank info, cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Preparation of yearend packages for accountants, i.e. preparing trial balance, adjusting entries, reconciling accounts
  • Maintain a filing system to support financial records.
  • Other accounting and Administration duties

Job qualifications

  • Accounting Background is required
  • Working knowledge of SageBusiness, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Ability to allocate time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Restaurant industry experience is considered an asset
