The Opportunity
We are recruiting a
Buyer to help facilitate the ongoing and rapid growth at SLEEGERS. This person will be responsible for placing different purchase orders on time and as planned. SLEEGERS operation is based on LEAN manufacturing operation which requires just on time material delivery. Supply planning is a crucial factor for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply planning and placing purchase orders on time and as planned
- Work with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure that material is delivered on time, and expedite as required
- Qualify new suppliers and add them to the approved vendor list
- Performing bid process and develop bid package and evaluation criteria with the stakeholders team
- Arrange and coordinate shipping to and from suppliers including preparation of shipping documents
- Handle suppliers' warranty / nonconformity material and close out the related nonconformance reports on an expedited basis
- Resolve any discrepancies during the material receiving stage
- Resolve any supplier's invoices and discrepancies
Qualifications:
years of experience in:
- Supply planning
- Purchasing
- Strategic Sourcing
- Shipping arrangement to and from suppliers
- Manage inventory cycle counts
- Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain, Commerce, Finance, Operations Management, Business Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics) is an asset
- Experience with manufacturing inventory flows and management
- SYSPRO knowledge considered a strong asset
- Strong sense of urgency
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
- The ability to work accurately with close attention to detail
- The ability to work in a team in a fastpaced, growing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of individuals in the organization from executives to support staff, within and outside of the Company
