The Position:

We are looking for an experienced instructor or tradesperson who to provide construction tool training for entry level employees.

This role is part of the People and Culture Team. This is a part time role reporting to the Field Training and Development Coach.

Compensation includes equitable pay based on experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and effective operation of all tools used on the construction work site (hand tools, small power tools etc.).
Explain the hazards connected with the tools, the proper handling of the tool, and the required PPE required to operate it
Provide hands on practice exercises to help with the familiarization of the tool
Training to be provided in small group sessions prior to mobilization to work site

Qualifications
- experienced in operation and teaching of construction tools in either an vocational school or industry setting

Trade certification or equivalent level of industry experience
Good communicator and coach
Strong focus on safety

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge

Experienced construction knowledge of hand tools and small power tools
Proficient working with computers and MS Office (Word & Excel)
Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
Friendly and professional demeanour, with strong interpersonal skills

Other Relevant Information

This is a part time role that is based out of our training centre in Kamloops
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and resident in the Kamloops area
While performing the duties of this job, Physical Demands will include prolonged standing, walking and/or sitting, use of hand dexterity, hearing and eyesight.
Required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
