Job Summary
The National Account Manager will report to the Sr. National Account Manager and direct all activities relating to sales for specific ASSA ABLOY portfolio of products to Rona.

They will be responsible to develop and execute annual and long-term business plans towards the profitable achievement of sales targets/budgets for their account portfolio.

Drive outstanding marketplace results through the use of benchmarking, category management & trade marketing strategies to drive strong business results.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development 75%

  • Develop and implement longterm strategies and an annual business plan to capitalize on profitable sales opportunities and achieve yearoveryear sales growth objectives with assigned accounts and product categories
  • Develops and maintains influential relationships with key decision makers of assigned accounts.
  • Create a sales growth strategy based on new product introductions and existing SKU expansion
  • Monitor and administratively coordinate all SKU additions/deletions
  • Drive outstanding marketplace results through the use of benchmarking, category management & trade marketing strategies and strong business relationships with strategic customers.
  • Responsible for forecasting
  • Conduct business reviews of accounts and present them as appropriate to management
  • Assist marketing and sales management with development of marketing strategies and advertising plans as appropriate. Recommend opportunities for increased penetration, based on knowledge of customers
  • Attend customer meetings and trade conferences as appropriate
  • Handle inquiries, complaints and service programs working through appropriate functions and acting as liaison with promotions, special programs, new products and other relevant activities to customers and to brokers.
  • Meet volume growth/market penetration objectives (i.e. MBO's) and acquire new business and develop business in existing ASSA ABLOY accounts.
  • Responsible for overall coordination with retail brokers (where applicable)
  • Develop and negotiate annual programs with key distributors (where applicable)
  • Other duties as assigned

Financial Management 25%

  • Create and Develop customer specific marketing and promotional plans that deliver profitable results
  • Work with Finance and Leadership team to plan and negotiate annual customer agreements and to ensure program payments to customers are timely and accurate

Education and Experience Profile

  • Secondary education, preferably in Business or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business is considered an asset
  • 5+ years of successful account management experience in a similar or related role

Required Skills:


  • A strong work ethic, hunter mentality, love of sales, and the drive to get out in the field and support existing business and/or pursue new business daily
  • Extensive problemsolving ability is required given the diverse and often conflicting "clients" that must be served: Customers, Brokers, and all internal functional areas all with a financial impact
  • High degree of strategic/business acumen: ability to recognize and act upon Customer and Spectrum strategies and to evaluate performance based on strategic goals.
  • Analytical abilities are essential to identify business opportunities and understand the causes of any variance from plan
  • Thorough knowledge of Sales and Marketing principles as well as a basic understanding of the role that each functional area (logistics/customer service/finance) plays in achieving objectives
  • Excellent negotiation skills

Work Environment:


  • Remote
- working from home office.

  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 30%
