Position:
Outreach and Partnership Coordinator - EmpowerMen Project


Classification:
Three (3) Year Term, Full Time


Location:443 Spence St.


Salary:
$50,000/year


Background:


The Outreach and Partnership Coordinator will develop and implement a systematic, process driven approach for new partnerships in the "EmpowerMen Project - Engaging Men and Boys to prevent sexual exploitation and trafficking".

This will include outreach to the business community, government agencies, law enforcement agencies as well as social and health services.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Identify and build relationships with business and industry sectors that can play role in engaging men in the prevention against sexual exploitation and trafficking
  • Create and deliver presentations, trainings and communication materials to educate these various sectors
  • Collaborate with employers to create employment codes of conduct designed to discourage demand for sexual exploitation in certain industries and prevent trafficking
- develop and foster new relationships with law enforcement agencies (police services, crown attorneys, etc.) and other agencies

  • Participate in the evaluation of the impact of the trainings and outreach efforts and implements changes
  • Participate in regular team meetings, and various advisory group meetings

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:


  • Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, public policy, social services, or a similar field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in marketing, communications, public policy or related field
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners from various backgrounds (forprofit and nonprofit organizations, police, various government entities)
  • Ability to convey complex topics in an understandable and convincing way and move audiences to action in the prevention of sexual exploitation
  • Outstanding presentation skills to engage audiences of different sizes and backgrounds
  • Results and outcome oriented
  • Open and engaging personality
  • Highly organized and selfmotivated
  • Projects an overall positive and respectful approach with all people; ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member
  • Possesses a strong work ethic
  • Driver's License and access to vehicle
  • Ability to work occasionally in the evening and on weekends
  • Supports Indigenous values; has knowledge of Indigenous cultures
