About Potash


BHP's Jansen Potash Project located approximately 140 km east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is BHP's first and most advanced potash project.

Jansen will add diversity and a Canadian presence to BHP's global portfolio. Jansen's large resource endowment provides the opportunity to develop it in stages, with anticipated initial capacity of 4.35 Mtpa. The BHP Board has recently sanctioned Jansen Project (Stage 1), with a US $5.7 billion investment. The project is now entering the construction phase, with the first potash expected in 2027.


Purpose:

The Operations Readiness team is accountable to support future Potash studies and projects.

This support involves providing input and direction on operations systems, processes and organizational capabilities required to handover, operate and maintain the assets within the project scope.

To support this work, the team is looking for a team member in the role of Specialist Operational Readiness Studies.


About the Role:


In this role, you will:

  • Develop operational readiness plans/schedules and deliverables, evaluate systems/procedures for compliance with study and project standards to efficiently prepare the asset for operations
  • Coordinate and drive collaboration for the completion of operations study deliverables focused on various studies to efficiently prepare the asset for operations
  • Manage, improve and provide expertise on safety risk management practices to improve organisational safety outcomes and performance
  • Verify and advise on engineering decisions for projects in alignment with Project, Construction, Commissioning and Engineering Standards
  • Identify and assesses risks, make risk informed decisions, use BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Plan, track the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes
  • Source information, plan and conduct analyses to support evidencebased decision making
  • Design and implement governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP

Work Location:

Downtown, Saskatoon; 40 hours per week. Parking is provided on-site.


About You:


  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Business (Finance or Accounting), or related discipline
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationshipbuilding skills, with an aptitude for collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Relevant experience in project management, with the ability to work flexibly across teams and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in work planning, schedule, and estimate development
  • Experience at an industrial site, with a general knowledge of operations processes, is an added advantage
  • Exposure to the mining industry is considered an asset, with potash experience highly regarded
