Description

We are looking for a
Financial Analyst to join our collaborative finance department at our Head Office in
Dartmouth, NS.

This role is responsible for managing daily cash flow, period end closings; financial reporting, planning and analysis.

Principle Responsibilities

Performs daily bank reconciliations
Completes balance sheet reconciliations
Reviews sub ledger postings and resolves issues
Assists with the annual audit
Assists with preparing and distributing financial reporting packages
Assists with planning, forecasting and budgeting
Completes and submits sales tax returns
Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management

Required knowledge and training

Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional accounting designation or enrolled at senior level
24 years financial accounting and payroll processing experience in a medium or large sized company
Business, finance and accounting fundamentals including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong analytical, budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills
Excellent ERP and Microsoft Office Suite skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong communication and reconciliation skills
Strong attention to detail
Legally entitled to work in Canada
