The Payroll Administrator is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized administrative professional who is responsible for the complete and accurate processing of payroll and the maintenance of employee payroll files and records.
The tasks of the payroll administrator do not end there They also act as a resource to internal customers to resolve payroll issues.
We've got so much more we want to tell you, so here it goes:Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a full cycle biweekly payroll. Reviews and verifies payroll reports.
- Monitors time off policies assignment and balances, and ensures balances are correct.
- Issues Records of employment in a timely fashion and uploads into Service Canada website
- Ensure all statutory deductions/RRSPs are remitted to third parties.
- Performs adhoc payroll projects which may require research and custombuilt reporting.
- Performs annual payroll balancing at yearend for T4 preparation. Ensures CPP and EI deductions are correct based on insurable earnings.
- Consistently adheres to all policies and procedures; strives to continuously improve payroll administration and fosters a culture that encourages proactivity and accountability.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of payroll issues, including legislation, rules and regulations from CRA, etc.
- Develops and maintains credible, effective working relationships with employees.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years recent payroll administration experience in a computerized environment.
- Experience using UKG is an asset.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification is an asset.
- Ability to work with confidential, sensitive information and maintain discretion.
- Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, serviceoriented attitude.
- Strong organization, time management and problemsolving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask with mínimal supervision.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office (strong excel skills and an ability to adapt learning to incorporate new technologies)
- Demonstrates initiative, a "roll up the sleeves" mentality and ability to work with a sense of urgency.
