    We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic team player to join our IT services team as a Help Desk Technician - is a Full-Time, Regular position for our Albert Region Dealerships. This is a remote position however Travel would be required to our Airdri,Edmonton,Leduc ,Lacombe & Red deer locations as needed.

  • Job Duties

  • Assume first point of contact for incoming support requests to the IT service desk.
  • Follow best practices for IT service desk from ticket creation to close including the addition of technical notes and developing SOPs or FAQs when required.
  • Provide feedback on processes and make recommendations on areas to improve.
  • Technical assistance for hardware, software, networks, and Operating System issues as necessary.
  • Installations or replacements of PCs, telephone handsets or other peripheral components such as printers, keyboards and monitors, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding process for new hires or exiting staff.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level when remote tools are not appropriate, including hardware repairs, delivery of peripherals, or other fixes as determined.
  • Confers with system administrators or vendor support staff to reach resolutions.
  • Research solutions through internal and external knowledgebase as needed.
  • Regular follow-ups with users (company staff).
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, college degree in Computer Science, information systems or computer engineering OR 5 years of related experience are required.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware or peripheral device setup and configuration.
  • Experience with desktop and server operating systems.
  • Experience in diagnosing technical issues throughout the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
  • Work Conditions

  • The working environment of the Help Desk Technician is an office environment.
  • Must have ability to perform essential functions including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus for several hours while tending to problems or requests from the staff or resolving issues within the company's systems.
  • Must be physically healthy to attend entering data into a computer, read on computer screens and printed materials without the use of vision aids (eye-glasses exception).
  • Hear and understand speech at a normal level in person and on the phone.
  • Possess the clear ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
  • Physically capable of lifting 25 pounds.
  • Able to start work at 6am – Mountain Time
  • Able to travel to/from Alberta store locations in Edmondton, Leduc, Red Deer, Lacombe, and Airdrie.
