THE OPPORTUNITY
Mitchell Press has an opening for a
Vice President, Finance rolereporting to the President of the company.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of a
Vice President, Finance include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Work closely with the President and the rest of the Executive Team to develop a strong culture of "team".
  • Manage cash flow forecast and develop strong supplier relationships.
  • Lead and oversee the daytoday finance department operations and programs in order to achieve goals within available resources.
  • Coach and supervise accounting employees, ensuring teamwork and accurate, timely accounting up to and including financial statements, and oversee monthend close activities.
  • Critically review and assess accounting documents, returns, and financial reports to ensure accuracy. This will include general accounting, payroll, A/P and A/R, cash management, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reports.
  • Supervise and/or prepare journal entries, account reconciliation, and schedules for quarterly review and yearend processes with the outside accounting firm.
  • Completion of financial statements and reports, including presenting the monthly/annual results, preparing annual budgets, and cash forecasting. Consolidate financial information and present financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Identify, analyze, and support capital expenditure needs required to improve the profitability and competitiveness of the facility. Assure quality of fixed assets auxiliary.
  • Act as a financial advisor to the management, the executive team, and other stakeholders as required. Communicate financial results, trends, and forecasts in a clear and concise manner and provide insights to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
  • Identify costsaving opportunities and collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement costcontrol measures. Monitor expenditures, analyze cost trends, and provide guidance on cost optimization strategies across departments.
  • Develop and utilize forwardlooking, predictive models and financial analysis to provide insights into the organization's operations and business plans.
  • Oversee, guide, and advance the organization's reporting, data, and analysis capabilities with the aim of driving competitiveness, identifying opportunities, addressing challenges, and optimizing our operations both internally and externally through datadriven insights.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years of strategic leadership accountability
  • Professional accreditation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) completed.
  • Strong cash flow management experience is required.
  • Strong team player, able to work within and lead a team is critical.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP + SUMIF formulas, Pivot tables)
  • Experience working in the manufacturing industry is an asset.
  • SRED experience is an asset.
  • Experience handling large amounts of data and creating relevant reports.
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, as well as FX management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is extremely beneficial including best practices and efficiencies of the system.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis including key trends analysis and business case analysis
  • Ability to think and act strategically, innovatively, and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative/analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Active listener who is adept at understanding competing agendas, building consensus, and rapidly moving solutions forward in a constructive manner
  • Strong diplomacy and ability to engage and communicate diverse audiences.


This Non-Union position provides extended health and dental benefits, as well as a pension plan fully paid by the employer.

Pay is commensurate with experience.
