Description
A sanitation worker is an employee who is responsible for collecting and disposing of waste products and garbage. Sanitation workers often work outside in adverse weather conditions such as hot, cold, wet and humid weather conditions.

They are at high risk for injuries due to slip-and-fall accidents, overexertion, back injuries and musculoskeletal disorders from heavy lifting.


Responsibilities:


  • Move trash and garbage to the curb.
  • Know what to do if something is spilled on the street.
  • Work with other workers to collect trash throughout the city.
  • Communicate with others about where trash is needed.
  • Move heavy trash from one area to another.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 24-32 per week


Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Morning shift
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Stellarton, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
