Description

Reporting to the AMS Reman/CP Supervisor, the Machinist will set up and operate all conventional machines in accordance with work order requirements and approved drawings.


Key position functions include:


  • Ensure processes and machine operations are performed in accordance with safety regulations and are carried out in a conscientious manner
  • Operate manual lathe by setting up and dialing in chuck jaws, tooling attachments, gearing, stops and indicating devices
  • Calculate requirements, using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry for practical problems such as computing dimensions, laying out work, and setting up machine tools
  • Machine weld repaired equipment as needed
  • Perform machining within required tolerances including thread repairs
  • Read and understand Engineering drawings, with applicable min / max tolerances
  • Maintain machine tools and tooling along with daily jib crane inspections
  • Notify Supervisor of any deficiencies
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Work towards meeting target dates and deadlines for projects and daily requirements, while maintaining a high quality of work
  • Ensure compliance with Stream-Flo Group Guiding Principles in terms of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental regulations or policies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable standards/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by Supervisor/Manager
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years relevant machining experience
  • Basic mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry
  • Quality Control for 6A is an asset
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, customer service, and problemsolving skills
  • Strong leadership and team skills with the ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Well organized and able to meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • An understanding of hand and power tool functionality
