Role and responsibilities
According to production needs, the
Team Leader performs a variety of tasks to support the operation. This is a hands-on position.

  • Coordinate production of various wood crates and packaging production planning to ensure on time delivery
  • Delegate work requirements to department team members
  • Teach and train department team members using best practices and processes
  • Liaise with other departments including customer service, purchasing and interact daily with the Management Team
  • Use of various tools and equipment related to wood work
  • Coordinate CNC orders
  • Complete various reports
  • Perform quality control inspections to ensure company high standards
  • Maintain proper inventory levels
  • Good analytical skills and capacity to understand client's expectation in terms of quality of products based on their needs

Required knowledge and experience

  • Minimum of 3 year's experience working in a wood product related manufacturing and assembly process
  • Leadership and ability to motivate, train and coach the team towards reaching the department objectives
  • Experience with various wood working equipment
  • Knowledge and experience of various fasteners and fastening tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good mathematic skills and at ease with basic measurement devices in Metric/Imperial and conversion
  • Good communication and organization skills in addition to being detailed oriented and qualityconscious
  • Strong work ethic

Required skills and abilities

  • Exhibit safe work ethics is a must, as having a positive, engaged contributor style attitude and communications
  • Quick learner with technical aspects of work and with production equipment

Other requirements
The position requires continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, heavy lifting and and work around machinery/various equipment

Position Summary:

Coordinating production order planning to ensure on time delivery

  • Delegate work requirements to department team members
  • Teach and train department team members using BEST practices and processes
  • Liaise with other departments, Customer Service, Purchasing and Management
  • Maintain a clean safe working area
  • Use of various saw's to cut wood and lumber
  • Use of various nail guns, staple guns, drills, and other wood assembly tools
  • Use of CNC router to cut various products
  • Nail, glue and staple wood, corrugated, foam and plastic products
  • Complete quality or other department reports
  • Count at inventory
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by Operations Manager

Qualifications

  • Must have prior wood product manufacturing and assembly process experience
  • Must have extensive knowledge and use of wood working equipment
  • Must have extensive knowledge of various fasteners and fastening tools
  • Must be able to read and interpret Induspac drawings and specifications
  • Must have good mathematic skills
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Fluent with basic measurement devices in Metric/Imperial and conversion capabilities
  • Must be detail and quality oriented
  • Must demonstrate safe work ethics
