We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented QA Analyst who's passionate about testing and has knowledge of the Web Development Test Life Cycle.

We are seeking someone that is motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.


You will be working with the Development team to ensure the overall quality of web projects delivered to the end-users of our digital publication properties.

You will join a growing team of QA professionals that will own and manage the entire QA process, from the start of project initiation through to delivery into production, working closely with various stakeholders along the way.

The QA Analyst must have excellent communication and analytical skills. They must also be well organized, driven to achieve and be able to justify changes and persevere through resistance.

The QA Analyst will act as a catalyst and coach throughout the organization to achieve new levels of consistent quality.


This role is a hybrid position out of our midtown Toronto office and reports to the Senior Product Delivery Manager.


Responsibilities:


  • Collect, review and analyze business requirements for the new functionalities.
  • Design and write test plans and descriptive test cases.
  • Execute testing and communicate test activities and issues to the rest of the Development team.
  • Write, maintain and execute automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically.
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks.
  • Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process.
  • Investigate, report, and verify issues by opening and tracking defects to closure.
  • Interact with stakeholders, as well as developers to ensure that test cases execution provides complete coverage.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams by participating in meetings pertaining to QA. (i.e. scrum meetings, daily standups, project meetings, etc.)
  • Contribute to the advancement of QA processes, testing techniques, test automation, etc.
  • Contribute to enhancing the test environment.
  • Other duties and assistance to the team as assigned by management.

Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer science, Business Administration, or other engineering related fields.
  • Experience in writing testing cases/plans, acceptance criteria, and understanding of QA processes, and manual testing techniques.
  • Experience in Desktop, Mobile, Cross-Browser and API testing.
  • Handson experience in Automation testing using tools like Cypress (Javascript) is required.
  • Experience with Test Management and Defect Tracking tools like JIRA.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to write test plans & cases and effectively communicate defects to developers and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates multitasking and organizational skills with an ability to stay focused on tight deadlines and deliverables.
  • Demonstrates problemsolving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Experience with version control
  • Github, Bitbucket etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines would be an asset.
