We are currently hiring a Lead Hand out of our Altona, Manitoba terminal.

The Tractor Mechanic / Lead Hand is responsible for the company's performance in terms of efficient, effective and timely repairs and maintenance on the Searcy Trucking tractor and trailer fleet in Altona.

They are expected to be a team player in the maintenance department. They must be able to diagnose recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the maintenance team. Good communication skills and a professional attitude are basic requirements.

1)
Tractor Maintenance / Lead Hand:

Involves performing preventative maintenance on all tractors and trailers in the Searcy Trucking fleet. On a daily basis, they are responsible for performing maintenance on tractors, this involves diagnosing problems that are found during these inspections and proscribing the correct remedial action. The Lead hand is also responsible for the shop performance when the Fleet Maintenance Manager is away.

2)
Truck and Trailer Repairs:

Involves performing repairs that are diagnosed during the driver's inspection and preventative maintenance. On a daily basis, they are responsible for performing repairs in a timely, effective and efficient manner.

3)
Other:

This will involve making sure the shop is kept clean, attending team meetings and performing other miscellaneous repairs on Searcy Trucking's heavy equipment.
Welding and fabricating as required
Preform government safety inspections on Searcy's truck and trailer fleet
