Job Description:

Tricon Residential Inc. is seeking a Development Analyst to join its Toronto team. The Development Analyst will be an integral team member focused on Tricons' purpose-built rental strategy in Toronto.

The Development Analyst will be responsible for contributing to the success of high rise purpose-built rental projects throughout their life cycle by providing acquisitions, due diligence, market & financial analysis, and development oversight.- Assist with acquisitions, including initial site identification and analysis- Assist with the preparation of market research and analysis- Ability to underwrite investment opportunities and prepare pro forma financials- Review, track and provide updates on overall project budgets and schedules, including initial pro forma financial models and cash flow forecasts (including variance analysis), partner reporting packages, etc.- Review and summarize various documents; planning, engineering, legal, financial, etc.

and evaluate concerns and opportunities Assist in liaising with consultants, city staff, and other external stakeholders- Liaise with various internal departments to ensure financial and non-financial information and assumptions are current and accurate and provide necessary information for public reporting purposes as requested- Succinctly and accurately prepare agenda and minutes for internal and external meetings- Research, summarize and track specific political, regulatory, and market trends to keep the business informed of potential changes within the development industry- Assists with property and asset management as required- Assists with general administration as required


Qualifications:

  • Strong desire and passion to pursue a career in the real estate finance industry
  • Selfstarter and "cando" attitude
  • Ability to operate in small teams with substantial individual responsibility and senior management exposure
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills with a direct and open communication style
  • Advanced modeling skills with an indepth understanding of financial concepts
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to think "outside the box"
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to succeed in a fastpaced environment and to manage multiple projects with competing priorities

Minimum Requirements:

  • A university degree in a related field is required: planning, engineering, architecture, or business/finance with real estate emphasis
  • Experience 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience within the residential real estate development industry
  • Applicants with 1 year experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity or corporate finance will also be considered
