To augment our exciting and continued growth, we are looking for the next up and coming stars in the geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental and materials testing & inspections fields to contribute to bringing this value-based service to our clients.

Our projects vary in size, type, scope and complexity and include both private and public clients.


GEI is seeking respected professionals who aspire to have a positive impact on
GEI s geotechnical and earth sciences design team and are interested in working collaboratively with a talented team of design, management, and technical leaders.
GEI will provide a unique opportunity to collaborate across multiple practices to successfully deliver geotechnical and earth science design/engineering solutions for our clients in the Ontario Market.


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions, assess site access for subsurface explorations, and identify important site features.
  • Organize and conduct drilling and test pitting for geotechnical, hydrogeologic and environmental investigations to gather soil, groundwater and bedrock samples in accordance with applicable ASTM standards and other industry standard guidelines.
  • Surveying, obtain water levels, and other activities such as infiltration and permeability testing. Specific testing methods and equipment are utilized such as single well response tests, Guelph Permeameter tests, data loggers, test pits, drilling and pump tests.
  • Conduct construction monitoring of geotechnical and environmental remediation projects.
  • Prepare detailed notes and take photographs to document the procedures used and observations made during field work and/or construction monitoring.
  • Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans prepared for each project site and participate in site safety briefings and audits.
  • Coordinate scheduling with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with internal team members on a daily basis.

Qualifications

  • College degree in hydrogeological, environmental or related field.
  • Four (4) or more years of geotechnical, hydrogeological & environmental field experience in Southern Ontario.
  • Understanding of industry standard practices and processes.
  • Valid driver s license with access to a personal vehicle.
