Position Purpose
:
Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company - building lasting relationships with our customers
Primary Responsibilities
:
The Class 1 Linehaul Driver is responsible for driving on local and national highways, pulling trailers from our our Regina, Saskatchewan yard.
Your role may at times also be responsible for over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.
Schedule:
Sunday to Thursday starting at 7 p.m.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
:
- Dispatched from Winnipeg based on the posted schedule, covering overnight line haul.
- Backup cover some city routes and overnight routes as either a hourly or pay for performance driver based on the route.
- Required to pull B-Train trailers from our Regina, SK yard, meet another driver halfway to Winnipeg, hook, rehook empty trailers and return to Regina.
- Perform all tasks in compliance with PFG safety policy and OSHA requirements.
- Preforming pretrip and posttrip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded product.
- Maintaining daily electronic driving logs.
- Drive to destinations as outlined in the manifest in a safe, responsible, manner and in compliance with all laws and transportation regulations.
- Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Unloading and delivering product to assigned area within account as directed by the customer.
- Assisting Customer Service and Buyers as needed in a prompt, professional manner.
- Checking for credits and processing them according to company guidelines.
- Submitting customer payments and paperwork to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Performing other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Current AZ/Class 1 Drivers license
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
1 year commercial driving experience
Must be 21+ years of age
Meet all Provincial licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Pass criminal background check
Pass road test
Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those applicants with 2 or more years experience.
