Job Summary:
- The Office Assistant is a valued member of the Education Team offering all required office support to the Education Unit. The Office Assistant helps to oversee the smooth functioning of the Education Unit in office related tasks. Work is performed under the supervision of the Manager of Office Administration._
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high level of public relations through courtesy with all telephone and public inquiries.
- Assist with the preparation of travel arrangements for workshops, conferences, and meetings for staff.
- Shall assign or take and distribute appropriately, minutes of all staff, committee, Advisory Boards, and related meetings.
- Ensure Education Committee Meetings are coordinated: agendas, preparation, etc.
- File documents and organize these both in hard copies and electronically.
- Distribute and input communications from staff to the appropriate mediums (e.g. newsletter; website; bulletin boards; other).
- Support the Education team in the planning and implementation of the various education events/programs (e.g. Career Fairs; Graduation; Orientation for Grade 12).
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Computer skills and the ability to use word, excel and other programs of this nature.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent as a minimum requirement.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Understanding that confidentiality is critical to education.
- Must have a clear criminal record.
- Knowledge of Anishinaabemowin is an asset.
- Preference will be given to members of Sagamok First Nation.
Terms and Conditions:

- Valid Driver's License and Access to Transportation
- Required criminal reference check upon Job Employment offer
