Description

Qualified individual required for the position of National Purchasing Manager to manage Consumer Packaged Goods categories, including snack and beverage.

Responsibilities:

Category management responsibilities to include:

Lead category management and strategy for diverse lines of business across Canadian enterprise.
Work directly with existing and/or prospective suppliers on mutual opportunities to develop category and address business needs.
Preparation and analysis of detailed financial proposals.
Contract preparation and execution.
Experience with supplier negotiations in a fluid, multistakeholder environment
Supporting the launch of contracted products including internal and external communications.
Coordinate pricing of products on a national basis.
Operational support for categories of responsibility.
Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders in various departments including finance, marketing, account management, sustainability, and global teams.

Qualifications:

College or university graduate with proven problemsolving, analytical skills or finance/accounting experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food service/food retail/food supplier/food distribution environment, preferably in a multiunit organization.
Supply chain and procurement experience is an asset.
Strong PC data manipulation skills with emphasis on advanced Excel.
Confident selfstarter with excellent interpersonal, communication, and interest in developing strong negotiation abilities.
Ability to engage and communicate effectively with distributors and suppliers (written & verbal).
Must be able to work independently and be detail oriented with ability to demonstrate superior problem solving skills.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.

This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
