Business Manager

**Description: - Permanent Full Time- Acting in partnership with the National Vice President, Insurance, this role oversees the daily operations of the channel and leads various projects and programs in the effective management of the channel and in support of future growth. This role also directs the development and execution of the annual business plan to bring focus to the highest priority deliverables and represents the channel as a spokesperson, ensuring the right people are at the table and connected to the channel nuances, needs, goals and priorities.


What you will do:


  • Plans and directs operational activities for the channel, including dissemination of financial reporting (sales, expenses), annual planning and prioritization and tracking progress to achieve targets. Ensures the channel is set up for success with appropriate training, processes, data and priorities and team engagement.
  • Leads and coordinates various projects and programs in service of the channel value offering. Participates in cross channel initiatives as well, to ensure ongoing channel delineation and to raise opportunities and challenges.
  • Builds effective partnerships
  • Oversee recognition and rewards, including sales campaigns, promotions and incentives for both field leadership and advisors.
  • Builds leadership and advisor development plans into the overall channel plans, shares a unified view of development priorities and partners for the successful implementation of core deliverables for smooth channel integration.
  • Works collaboratively to understand and execute on channel priorities as assessed.
  • Ensures the annual business plan aligns with the integrated storyline we build for the channel to enable consistent advisor and field leadership messaging
  • Collaborates to design financial reporting that aligns with the needs of the channel, explores ways to leverage automation capability through Salesforce and IDM and shares insights to get behind the sales and expense results.
  • Partners to ensure the mission, vision and values of the channel are represented in incentives and programs, that budgets are adhered to and the objective is clearly defined and shared.

What you will bring:


  • 5+ years in financial services or business management role.
  • Education acquired through a university degree or college certification.
  • Strategic thinker with an equally strong tactical ability.
  • Able to connect disparate bits of information to create a holistic viewpoint and understanding.
  • Ability to ideate and explore a broad base of new areas of opportunity before additional resources are tapped efficient with limited resources.
  • Proven ability to gain consensus and to drive for positive outcomes.
  • Track record of delivery and results.
  • Proven ability to work crossfunctionally.
  • Understands the mechanics of a substantial Distribution organization.
  • Stay apprised of industry and regulatory changes and competitive landscape.
  • Has wide access to data and key decision makers across the organization comfortable with diving into any area of the business or product.
  • Understands the business environment and internal/external customer needs, and identifies business opportunities that create a competitive advantage.
  • Able to foster collaborative relationships, engage and inspire the right outcome through partnerships and mutual respect.
  • Drives results and contributes to change processes that improve organizational performance and creates a culture of accountability.
  • Able to assess and prioritize work, identify key issues and manage multiple projects at any given time through efficiency and attention to detail.

  • The base salary for this position is between
    $78,600:
  • $137,900 **annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
