as a Deployment Support Technician:
L3Harris MAS plays an important role in In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CH-147 (Chinook) Medium Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program.
Our mandate includes providing Tool Control and Maintaining Aircraft Support and Test Equipment for use by DND technicians.The ISS contract charges L3Harris MAS with responsibility for the set-up and implementation of the STE Maintenance & Tool Control Service.
The mandate includes, ensuring a smooth transition from set-up to in-service at CFB Petawawa Ontario.This position requires the removal and replacement of Aircraft Maintenance Support and Test Equipment such as Hand Tools and a variety of Test Equipment into Special Equipment Shelters and ISU 60 storage containers to maintain Deployment Readiness.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare STE for deployment, ensure PUK/CRK STE items are inspected, available and are selected based on length of deployment and opportunities to replenish,
- Plan STE support during deployments including STE Maintenance, Spare Parts and Replacement requests;
- Liaise with Calibration Support Employee to ensure PUK/CRK calibrated items are available and selected based on length of deployment and opportunities to replenish;
- Establish and maintain a communication link with the Boeing Mobility Kit Manager to schedule STE Item Removal and Replacements in support of Deployment Kit readiness;
- Record all transactions using CribMaster software;
- Perform Handover transaction with Boeing and DND customer;
- Maintain CribMaster PUK and CRK configurations; and
- Carry out duty tech responsibilities when assigned;
- Provide STE Maintenance Training to DND Aircraft Maintenance Technicians as required;
- Support group projects;
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement Program; and
- Assume the duties of Tool Crib Employee during periods of personnel shortages.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- Post secondary education or equivalent Military Training and experience in an aircraft maintenance or supply chain environment required;
- Community College Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience;
- Five years of relevant maintenance supply chain experience with mechanical and electrical equipment;
- Must have a valid Driver's License;
- Knowledge of Canadian Forces aircraft maintenance operations or aircraft maintenance support equipment is desired;
- Fork Lift License would be an asset;
- Mechanical assembly experience is an asset;
- Ability to work independently, with mínimal direction or as part of a team;
- Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers, technical staff, customers and supervisors (e.g., new or improvement processes, procedures);
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems; and
- Proven organizational ability.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada
"Reliability" status and/or
Level 2 (Secret) security clearance; - For onsite positions, our location not accessible by public transport, car/carpooling required.
