PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Co-op program at CPKC will give you an opportunity to gain large public-company experience with a culture committed to success and development.

You will collaborate on projects that require detailed analytical review, and progress real-time business and process improvements. The job requires an aptitude for data mining, analytics, problem solving and a drive for collaboration.

CPKC is currently considering a Co-op Student pursuing an undergraduate degree or College Diploma programs including but not limited to the following areas of study:

Accounting
Finance
Business Administration
Commerce
Economics

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES - FINANCIAL PLANNING

Prepare monthly revenue, expense and/or capital forecasts;
Prepare reports and complete ad hoc analysis, including variance analysis; and
Support financial planning projects including process improvement, information technology enhancements, etc.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES - ACCOUNTING

Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations;
Prepare financial analysis on monthly and quarterly data; and
Perform other month end closing responsibilities and related reporting.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including but not limited to Excel;
Ability to work independently, and as part of a team;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Manage expectations and prioritize workbased requirements;
Exceptional analytical and problem solving;
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform critical selfreviews;
Continuous improvement mindset; and
Ability to use Best Practice to achieve departmental goals.
