Binnie has an exciting full-time, temporary opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to join our team. This position is anticipated to be 15-18 months in duration to backfill during a maternity/parental leave. Remote/hybrid work arrangements are available.


Working closely with our Payroll & Benefits Administrator you will be involved in the coordination of various Canadian payroll and benefits matters, including data entry, benefits enrollment, and employee data file maintenance.


YOUR ROLE:


  • Under guidance of the Payroll & Benefits Administrator, entering new hire information, payroll data, benefits enrollments and terminations
  • Responding to general inquiries from Managers and Staff regarding general payroll and benefits, and acting as a positive and responsive representative of Binnie
  • Reviewing and updating timesheets for accuracy and completion
  • Processing semimonthly payroll for submission to external payroll service for deposit
  • Maintaining time off accruals and balances
  • Assisting with yearend processes, including T4's and other documentation
  • Coordinating with Finance, HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely updates are made in the payroll system

WHAT YOU BRING:


  • Minimum 2 years' experience processing Canadian payroll in a similar sized organization
  • Group benefits administration experience
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
  • Experience with Rise People payroll software is an asset
  • Knowledge of British Columbia and Alberta Employment Standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple competing demands and meet deadlines
