Why This Role is Important:

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain the relationship with our insolvency and credit counselling business partner.
  • Lead the collection department operational expenses and correspondence from our customers, call centre, and post charge off collection agencies.
  • Day to day management and QA of specialty collections (bankruptcy, credit counselling, etc) and administration (internal specialty queues and external pre and post chargeoff collection/recovery agencies).
  • Provide documentary support regarding Credit Risk policies, SOPS (standard operating procedures), controls, and invoicing. Key stakeholder(s) include: Collection Operations, High Risk Account Management (Specialty Collections), Customer Service Operations, and external agencies, etc.
  • Subject matter expert for specialty collections, credit bureau status reporting codes, specialty collections policy, and compliance for Credit Risk.
  • Educate partners and ensure adherence with policy/SOP governance regarding specialty queues/workflows.
  • Drive initiatives designed to improve operational efficiencies using new or existing tools e.g. TSYS.
  • Responsible for providing direction for account escalations, settlement requests, other debt proposals, within the authority matrix, and when referred by agency.
  • Perform ongoing invoicing and payment reconciliation and update expense tracking/forecasting for collections General Ledger (GL).

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 2 years collections and callcentre related experience, preferably in a Team Leader or Supervisory role
  • Minimum High School Diploma, Community college or university training is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office, BI Query, Techcom, DRS, TSYS, etc
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Analytic, detail and processoriented thinking skills
