Your Role on our Team:


In this role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the development process from land acquisition to the end of warranty, and everything in between.


In this role, you will:


  • Assemble detailed financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate projects using NewStar, Procore, and Excel.
  • Works with all applicable functional groups to ensure all project proforma information, forecasts, and cash flow projections are prepared accurately and are accompanied by variance reports detailing changes to the project.
  • Support functional teams in the creation and monitoring of project budgets and cash flows to ensure target metrics are achieved
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting for internal purposes, partners, and lenders
  • Review required schedules and monthly draws for construction and servicing financing.
  • Monitor financial performance, and project timelines, and identify risks and opportunities
  • Under the direction of the Manager, read various joint venture legal agreements and assist in the creation of the appropriate cost and reporting structures within NewStar
  • Under direction of the Manager, prepare calculations in accordance with the terms and conditions of various legal agreements and prepare any required reporting
  • Support the land development and construction teams to implement cost/budget control processes and initiatives
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management

We would like you to have:

  • Post-secondary education (Bachelor's Degree or Master's) with a concentration in accounting, real estate, and/or finance
  • 35 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to deliver on commitments and manage multiple deliverables
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL and InformXL is an asset
  • Knowledge of NewStar is an asset Knowledge of the residential real estate/development industry is considered an asset
