Convergint is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Remote Security Access Control Technician to work fully remotely in Canada.

This position is responsible for programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Security projects which are typically small to medium projects that are often less complex.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

  • Programs & test a variety of nonroutine security systems and equipment. Colleague is key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer and as such is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Writes a variety of nonroutine programs for systems.
  • Consults with supervisor to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
  • Advises supervisor regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for product improvements.
  • Executes most of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including programming, graphics development, startup, certification testing, customer training, closeout documentation, and ongoing technical support etc.
  • Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Always acts as "our customer's best service provider" thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer's first choice for service.

What You'll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to regularly work under pressure; consistent ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
  • Advanced technical skills and experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems
  • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
  • Must be a selfstarter and work well without direct supervision
  • Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements:

-
Certification in one or more of the following is essential: Lenel, Genetec, CCure:

  • Minimum of three to five years of previous, security access control systems experience required
  • Diploma in Electronics preferred
