Project Details
- Location: Edmonton, AB
- Start Date: June 2023
- Duration: 2 years or until construction is completed
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day. Additional hours may be required during peak construction and tunnelling.
Your Opportunity with Michels Canada
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Demonstrated understanding of the setup, operation, and tear down of the complete separation system including fluid decanters and centrifuges.
- Utilize the appropriate methods for taking sand content tests, mud weight tests, rheology tests and record the test results.
- Prepare ported and standard microtunnel pipes which will be used during tunneling operations
- May also be pumping water, picking rocks, shoveling dirt, loading, unloading and installing heavy materials and tools all day.
- Have a positive team player attitude.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- 2+ years experience working with microtunnel separation systems.
- 2+ years experience working on an active microtunnel job site.
- 2+ years experience mixing polymers, bentonite and flocculant additives based on various changes in ground formations while microtunnelling.
- 2+ years experience working with lubrication pumps and system.
- Must be able to demonstrate competency with centrifuge operations.
- Must be comfortable enter confined spaces upwards of 23 meters deep.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job site.
- First Aid is an asset but not required.
- Employment conditional on successful completion of required safety training and site access requirements and union dispatch.
- Language of work: English.
