JOB SUMMARY
Assists the project manager with overall administrative functions and duties on several projects for Railings scopes. This includes supporting the management of contracts, subcontracts, budgets, and schedules.

The project coordinator will work closely with project stakeholders including engineering and design team, field staff, breakdown operations and manufacturing to plan, execute, and problem solve.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assists project manager in managing and reporting overall project performance, cost management, schedule, and quality
  • Responsible for some subcontract administration including, defining work scope, answering inquiries and monitoring progress
  • May be responsible for quantity takeoffs as required
  • Reviews and understands contract obligations as per the responsible work scope
  • Assists with change order management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact before reviewing with the project manager
  • Assists project manager in creating and issuing tender packages and subcontracts and monitoring their progress
  • Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (RFI's, shop drawings and submittals process)
  • Assists the project manager in monitoring the drafting team for timely response to the submittal schedule
  • Participates in reviews of supplemental instructions from the client's design team, works with stakeholders to implement the change and communicates cost and schedule impact to client
  • Prepares and tracks progress claims and quotations
  • Assists in tracking of materials and equipment
  • Assists in overall construction coordination and planning
  • Involved in, and assists with overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance, warranty manuals, deficiencies, and continuous improvement (project postmortem)
  • Develops and maintains strong stakeholder relationships
  • Liaise with client, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Postsecondary diploma or degree in a related field such as architecture, construction, building science, engineering, or management
Experience

  • Minimum 24 years of construction experience
  • Working knowledge of Drawings and specifications, project health, safety and environment, quality, building materials and associated standards
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction sequences, construction law, building codes and scheduling tasks
  • Intermediate experience writing and administering simple subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture
  • Knowledge of cost and change management

Skills:


  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks for prompt execution
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence designers on simple construction projects
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Understanding of decisionmaking authority and ability to present solutions
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and internal operational systems with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
  • Technical proficiency
