Course Description/Relevant Employment Duties
Physical networks, TCP/IP protocols, switching methods, network layering and components, network services. Information security, computer and network security threats, defence mechanisms, encryption.
Three lectures, one tutorial (one hour); second term
Instructor will have full responsibility for the course offering, including teaching (preparation and delivery of lectures, seminars, discussion periods), student assessment (development of assessments such as quizzes, tests, examinations, laboratory assignments, evaluation of students), responding to student inquiries (holding scheduled office hours, responding to student inquiries outside of scheduled lecture times), attending meetings with Supervisor, and preparing and submitting learning outcomes measurement for the Course.
Required Qualifications
Graduate degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related discipline. Applicant must have solid background in and thorough understanding of the course topics as described above.- _Supplemented Fees
a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.
The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.
If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
