***Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
Reporting to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Administrative Assistant is provides administrative support and acts as first point of contact for the Office of the Speaker.
This position is responsible for managing information inquiries, parliamentary events, projects and communications related to activities of the Speaker's Office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must have:
- Completion of relevant postsecondary training and a minimum of five years' experience in a senior administrative support role, preferably in a parliamentary or public sector environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing complex, sensitive communications and confidential matters.
