    Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

    Position Overview

    Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to examine all areas of the body, assesses patients, analyzes and interprets diagnostic data and provides information to the physician to assist in diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management.

    Experience

    • Experience in a hospital sonography unit preferred.

    Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

    • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
    • Must be competent in all areas of sonography which are performed at the site.
    • Willingness of further education in technical areas to keep abreast of innovations in the field.

    Certification/Licensure/Registration

    • Currently registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as well as the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP).
    • Current registration with the Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
    • Current compliance with Canadian Medical Education requirements for ARDMS and CARDUP.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Knowledge and experience using the AGFA Radiology Information System (RIS) and the AGFA PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is preferred.
    • Knowledge of E-Film system an asset.
    • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skill are essential.
    • Must be discreet and confidential in hospital/patient related matters.
