What you'll do:


Edmonton Power Center (EPC), Eaton Electrical is currently seeking an Intern to join our EHS team This position is based at our Edmonton, AB facility.


Primary functions/objectives

  • Improves EATON MESH (Management System of Environment, Safety and Security, Health) Program scores by compiling and creating the required EHS documents, establishing the digital training matrix and reporting, as well as supporting EHS training components.
  • Works with site JHSC members and employees to enhance the EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) culture and close safety actions, meeting the Alberta Safety regulations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the required EHS documents according to MESH and AOHS requirements.
  • Conduct workstation and sitelevel risk assessment such as ergonomic risk analysis.
  • Develop training matrix and materials while keeping good training records for employees.
  • Carry out any EHS audits and Gemba Walk on the shop floor collaborating with all employees to brainstorm ideas for problemsolving in order to mitigate and eliminate any safety risks.
  • Assist on closing safety actions from MESH, incident, and safety observation reports.
  • Coordinate with all department, project managers and external contractors for all the safety administration requirements such as permits, as well as the safety work plan.
  • Support all continuous improvement activities including developing digital checklist, reports and visual controls, as well as supporting the 5S+ activities.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly for the safety messages when providing any group training and implementing any safety change.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:


Basic Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a College or University program in Engineering, Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing and Automation, or Occupational Health and Safety
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or coop or industrial experience an asset.
  • Strong computer and written skills
  • Detailoriented in data collection and creating professional documents.
  • Skilled at interacting with employees from a diverse background.
