Description

Assemble and install various types of wiring, equipment, and coils for electric motors or transformers according to drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Diagnose, test, and observe electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments.
Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors.
Perform onsite servicing and repair.
Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electromechanical equipment.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
Conduct repairs disassembling transmission unit and replacing broken or worn parts, such as seals, bearings, gears, and valves among other things.
Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components.
Perform machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators, or other parts.
Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear.
Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance.
Keep the work area and all tools clean and organized.

Qualifications:

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
3 years to less than 5 years' experience with armoured and custommade luxury vehicles.
Knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems.
Additional experience in an automotive OEM quality environment to ensure proper performance and compliance with standards, including but not limited to ISO9001, VPAM, STANAG, health and safety and other standards.
Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints, etc.
