Chevron Australia Downstream is seeking to appoint a Lead Planner, Value Chain Optimization (VCO) who will be responsible for providing clear direction and oversight to Fuels Supply Planners in planning and scheduling the clean fuels product supply for Chevron Australia customers.

The role will also provide daily work direction to the Australia VCO Planning Analyst consolidating the demands across Australia and conducting the economic analysis in the planning and execution phase.

The role will work closely with the Regional Natural Work Team (NWT) to plan import shipments as well as local purchases and sales with 3rd Parties.

This opportunity will be based in Brisbane.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The Lead Planner is accountable for the Australia VCO planning and scheduling clean fuels product supply for Chevron Australia's Retail, C&I and Bulk Sales customers. The team must maintain fuel supply reliability while continuously analyzing and optimizing costs with key local and regional stakeholders to drive the best value for the enterprise.
  • Work closely with Regional VCO, Trading, Shipping, Local Commercial Coordinator, Sales, Pricing and Terminals to match product demands from the sales channels with the most economic source of supply which can include imports and 3rd party sales or purchase negotiations,
  • Influence action and accountability by others to drive towards adding incremental margin and reducing costs for Australia and the Chevron enterprise in the planning and execution phase.
  • Accountable for financial impact of supply plan including inventory build/draw and market commodity and shipping price drivers. Support monthly business review financial lookbacks by explaining deviations from plan. Make value captured in other parts of the enterprise visible to local and regional stakeholders.
  • Accountable for business continuity plan development in scenarios where supply reliability is at risk due to unforeseen logistics issues or product quality concerns.
  • Oversees monthly value chain lookbacks and shares opportunities & learnings with the cross-functional NWT team or key stakeholders. Improve import planning processes from key learnings and influence other groups to drive gaps to closure to add value to the business.
  • Accountable for Australia VCO team organizational capability and drives any gaps in tools, work processes or competencies to closure by leveraging internal best practices and resources.
  • Uses metrics and standards to monitor, analyze, and continuously improve core work processes and overall functional group performance.
  • Leads change management efforts, and influence process improvements resulting in continuous measurable improvements to financial results or business unit performance.
  • Uses root cause analysis to understand and correct problems.

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role. 10+ years of Downstream or Midstream experience preferred, especially in supply chain optimization, scheduling, shipping, terminal Operations, and/or commercial negotiation.
  • Strong business acumen and operational analysis skills required.
  • Skilled in datadriven decisions, analysis of tradeoff decisions, and riskbased decision making.
  • Effective verbal and written communicator and able to quickly build relationships with various stakeholders and teams.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify issues and quickly involve the right people to address.
  • Proficient in Office products such as MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Experience with TSW scheduling tool is preferred.
