Position Description:

REPOSTED

Temporary Assignment - Approximately 26 weeks
***: To support patient safety and the hospital's medication management system through the preparation, verification and supply of medications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, OR graduation from an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program
Approaching registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a regulated Pharmacy Technician
Demonstrated accuracy in the performance of technical tasks including medication preparation
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Ability to communicate effectively and cooperate with coworkers
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment
Excellent attendance and work record is essential

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Become familiar and build on the professional judgement instilled throughout the pharmacy technician program
Establish relationships with the preceptor and complete the tasks required in a timely manner
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy at all times
Use the selfassessment tools to ensure that all the SPT requirements are met
Complete all assignments as directed by the preceptor or delegates
Ensure professionalism is maintained throughout the entire process

HOURS OF WORK:

Rotating shifts & Extended Hours Monday to Sunday; Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends & Holidays

NOTE:

This position will be mainly at Charlton Campus, but may be scheduled to work at other campuses as well.
