Position Description:
REPOSTED
Temporary Assignment - Approximately 26 weeks
***: To support patient safety and the hospital's medication management system through the preparation, verification and supply of medications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, OR graduation from an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program
- Approaching registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a regulated Pharmacy Technician
- Demonstrated accuracy in the performance of technical tasks including medication preparation
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively and cooperate with coworkers
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment
- Excellent attendance and work record is essential
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Become familiar and build on the professional judgement instilled throughout the pharmacy technician program
- Establish relationships with the preceptor and complete the tasks required in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy at all times
- Use the selfassessment tools to ensure that all the SPT requirements are met
- Complete all assignments as directed by the preceptor or delegates
- Ensure professionalism is maintained throughout the entire process
HOURS OF WORK:
Rotating shifts & Extended Hours Monday to Sunday; Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends & Holidays
NOTE:
This position will be mainly at Charlton Campus, but may be scheduled to work at other campuses as well.
