Position Description:


REPOSTED

Temporary Assignment - Approximately 26 weeks
***: To support patient safety and the hospital's medication management system through the preparation, verification and supply of medications.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Successful completion of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program, OR graduation from an OCP recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Approaching registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a regulated Pharmacy Technician
  • Demonstrated accuracy in the performance of technical tasks including medication preparation
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively and cooperate with coworkers
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent attendance and work record is essential

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Become familiar and build on the professional judgement instilled throughout the pharmacy technician program
  • Establish relationships with the preceptor and complete the tasks required in a timely manner
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy at all times
  • Use the selfassessment tools to ensure that all the SPT requirements are met
  • Complete all assignments as directed by the preceptor or delegates
  • Ensure professionalism is maintained throughout the entire process

HOURS OF WORK:

Rotating shifts & Extended Hours Monday to Sunday; Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends & Holidays


NOTE:

This position will be mainly at Charlton Campus, but may be scheduled to work at other campuses as well.
