Position Overview:

  • This position is a progression step we are adding into the NAM Region for those Heavy Lifts technicians and LEADS that have achieved the necessary expertise on a turbine model as well as several component exchanging competencies. We are anticipating this role to be filled by 1 per platform within SGRE.
  • This position while still primarily field based and productive will involve more frequent home time (3:1).
  • Home time will still follow normal SGRE interim policies of 3 weeks on road warranting 3 days off but the remaining days will be worked remotely. This position will also report directly to the Division Head instead of the resource managers.
  • Relocation will not be offered for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to research technical records to provide execution clarification.
  • Be selfmotivated, able to think quickly and address problems as they arise.
  • Drive efficiency in the execution of Aftermarket and Warranty Heavy Lifts & Advanced Maintenance work
  • Engage and complete assigned actions relating to but not limited to: Lessons Learned, investigations, validations, process and procedure validation, etc.
  • Be available for support with acknowledgment of regional timezone variances including after hours, holiday's, and weekends unless predetermined substitute is defined.
  • Assist with vendor validation and SGRE compliances including but not limited Training profiles, document review, document validation, etc.
  • Perform Vendor Competency Verifications including CP certification sign offs, progress reporting, etc.
  • Self-Maintain required SGRE Training Profiles
  • Support the Craneless solutions for your specific platform.
  • Crane Management assistance when necessary may entail support for project experience, suggestions, and input for proper crane procurement.
  • Fairly and progressively train and certify Heavy Lift technicians based on your specific qualifications per platform.
  • Achieve and maintain APT trainings and certifications for each component exchange per your platform responsible.
  • Work with counterpart specialists to share knowledge, best practices, etc. based off of experience and job prioritization
  • Validate new labor, tooling, and/or crane vendors to better the business as assigned by management
  • Maintain proper communication with vendors for training progression purposes
  • Remain a team player to the division and have the ability to "cover" for another platform specialist that may be in the field, on PTO, or unavailable during afterhours
  • Align with the PM's and the Resource managers to form high performance, highly competent teams for each Turbine class/model
Required Knowledge/Skill, Education, and Experience- Project execution- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Experienced Team Leader- Make challenging decision in the field in order to ensure HSE, Quality, and Professionalism- Ability to coach/mentor technicians through the OJT process- Take a new Work Instruction/procedure and safely execute "First Time" work scopes- AP or APT status for 1 exchange type on specific platform- Technical knowledge on a Wind Turbine Generator related to Major Component exchanges- Conventional or Crane-less knowledge for Major Component Exchanges- MS Office & products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Projects & Visio)- Safety- QA/QC- Travel required: up to 75%
