Summer Enrichment Worker
(Full-time Contract from June 18, 2024 to August 2, 2024)

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status.

What you'll get to do:

Develop and Lead a daily academic program for newcomer children aged 71
Prepare Math, Science and Reading activities to match student's unique needs
Work closely with program staff, volunteers and youth leaders to organize program activities including outdoor trips, sports and community walks
Supervise children in activities throughout the program
Support a team of volunteers to work one on one with participants
Communicate with parents to support learning
Maintain participants' learning records and submit program report
Prepare a wrapup event for students and volunteers

What you need to know/have:

Postsecondary education in a related field
Experience working with children and youth, preferably with newcomer groups
Ability to speak a second language is considered a strong asset
Creativity, enthusiasm, and an ability to think and plan proactively
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
Outstanding leadership and communication skills
Demonstrated cross cultural skills
Experience working with volunteers is an asset
Must be able to commit to entire contract duration
Clear Criminal reference check

Location:
Toronto, ON

Hours: 35 per week, occasional weekends and evenings may be required.

Compensation:
$16.55 per hour
