Premier Event Tent Rentals Inc. is a growing supplier of temporary tenting and flooring to the GTA and beyond. Premier specializes in the creation of custom temporary outdoor venues.

Whether for weddings, corporate events, golf tournaments or social occasions we work closely with each client assessing their functional needs, reviewing their site logistics, considering their budgetary framework, and designing the optimum tenting and flooring solution to suit their needs.

This year the three championships will be hosted in the following markets:

  • 2023 Canadian Pacific Women's Open
  • Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities
Here are some highlights of what the job will entail:
Travel to each tournament venue to help with set-up, stand-by and tear down duties including:

  • Building elevated deck flooring systems & at-grade plank and plywood
  • Helping to lay carpet on scaffold platforms and Premier's flooring systems
  • Setting up temporary fencing, stage decks, event furniture, and tent installation
  • Handling/delivering/setup of rented furnishings for each area
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, as well as all internal health and safety policies and procedures
  • Work with other members of company's management team, and with all staff to promote and maintain positive workplace safety awareness and practices

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • A mature attitude to foster a cooperative and safe working environment
  • You enjoy working in a fastpaced environment, in the outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • You are flexible, available to work early mornings and long hours during the week and occasionally on weekends
  • Able to perform physical tasks which include repetitive moving and lifting of tenting materials in varying weights and sizes weighing up to 60lbs/28kgs
  • Basic knowledge in the safe and effective use of basic household power tools
  • Basic knowledge of the game of golf with some golf course etiquette knowledge (preferred)
  • A valid Forklift Driver certificate is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills

Travel/Accommodation

  • For 45 weeks (mid July to end of August) the successful applicant will travel to Calgary, AB to work onsite at the Shaw Charity Classic at Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club.
  • For 45 weeks (end of July to end of August) the successful applicant will travel to Vancouver, BC to work onsite at the CP Women's Open at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.
  • Some crew members will complete setup in Calgary and head directly to Vancouver to help with the CP Women's Open setup.
  • Exact date of return will be confirmed at a later time but is expected to be near the end of August/Early September.
  • Accommodations will be provided for the month of July/August during the period of the Shaw Charity Classic & CP Women's Open in Calgary/Vancouver.
  • However,
    NO accommodations will be provided during the weeks working at Oakdale's Golf & Country Club in Toronto as this is considered a "homebase" event.

Hours of Work

  • Monday
  • Saturday 7:30AM 6:00PM (times will vary throughout work term)

Compensation

  • Hourly wage range of $17 $19/hour based on skills and previous experience
  • Includes $1/hour worked retention bonus

COVID-19 considerations:
