Purpose:

Education and Training:

Graduated from a related post secondary diploma and/or degree program
Ministry of Labour "Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps" training certificate is required.

Experience:

A minimum of six (6) months recent relevant experience required

Knowledge/Skills

Ability:

Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in Medical Terminology
Proficiency in data entry and working knowledge of computerized patient information systems
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software, i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and the ability to function in a multitasked environment
Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 50 w.p.m.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other health care professionals
Strong problem solving and conflict management skills with ability to seek out system flow opportunities
