Major Accountabilities:
- Managing a team of four Buyers
- Ensure the timely receipt of materials to support an efficient manufacturing operation.
- Responsible for delivering Key KPIs such as supplier on time delivery and inventory levels.
- Supporting supplier activities in partnership with Sourcing, Engineering and Production teams.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage Buyers to ensure inventory is available to meet manufacturing demand while maximizing inventory turns and minimizing inventory carrying cost.
- Coordinate with the Buyer and Suppliers to resolve delivery issues, quality issues and invoice hold issues to ensure materials are available for efficient manufacturing.
- Provide leadership to direct reports to closely work with internal customers to implement Engineering changes, support resource and dual source activities and expedite to keep production running.
- Manage our thirdparty warehouse by optimizing stock transfers and associated costs.
- Optimize our VMI and Kanban setup.
- Support our quarterly supplier rating activities.
Specialized Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, MBA is a plus.
- Experience in Oracle ERP system highly desirable
- Lean experience is required; Six Sigma experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in Oracle ERP system highly desirable
- Experience in Min-Max, and KanBan material planning is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be a good leader and communicator, who can influence change with internal stakeholders to challenge the status quo when required. People management experience is a plus.
